Family Programs

Family Weekend occurs every third weekend; it is a two-day event. Educational programs and groups are held at our Northlake Boulevard Administration Center. The weekend is capped off with a barbeque at our Juno Beach residence with all families and clients.

We believe that family involvement in our clients' recovery process is critically important. The purpose of this program is to assist families in better understanding the disease of chemical dependency and to provide an opportunity to address the many questions and concerns families have about treatment. This is an educational experience for families and loved ones who are impacted by this complex disease. Here, with guidance by a trained professional, participants begin to better understand the roles they play in assuring a successful treatment experience for their loved ones. When families join with each other in this setting and learn more about alcohol and drug abuse, the chance of achieving and maintaining sobriety is enhanced for their family members.

A Family Weekend Packet will be sent to families soon after treatment begins and will contain all the information necessary to plan for your attendance. We encourage you to participate in this special program as it is our belief that there have been physical, emotional, and social consequences for the families of those in treatment.

Every Sunday there is a family/client barbeque at our oceanside residence in Juno Beach. Families meet without their loved ones prior to the barbeque with our Family Program Director to ask questions and learn more about the treatment process. These meetings begin to alleviate the emotional pain, mistrust, and estrangement that are commonplace between clients and families when recovery begins. Early in the afternoon, families join their loved ones for a barbeque, a walk on the beach, or just quiet time with each other.

Conjoint counseling,
a private meeting with a therapist, the family, and the client, can be arranged by appointment if there are additional issues that need to be addressed.
