Pre-Arrival
Checklist
We ask that you be familiar with our
checklist to facilitate your admission process. Clothing should be
comfortable and loose fitting.
Please note that family and friends are encouraged to send you letters
of love and support at any time during your treatment. We will invite
and welcome them to participate in our Family Program.
Items TO Bring to Treatment
• Insurance Card
• Prescription Card
• Medications (in original bottles)
• Cash for your patient account
• Cigarettes - bring at least a carton upon admission
• CD/MP3 Player - Walkman Size
• Umbrella
• Eyeglasses/Contact Lenses and supplies
Items NOT to Bring to Treatment
• Do not arrive with items that contain alcohol, including mouthwash,
perfume, cologne, etc.
• Weapons
• Cell Phones: If you are traveling with a cell phone it will be placed
in our safe upon your arrival. You will be able to make a ‘safe call’
upon your arrival at Recovery Resources. There will be a 7-day ‘black
out’ period designed to totally immerse you in the recovery process. If
there are any emergencies, your family can call the Center and we will
get you to a phone.

• Provocative or Offensive Clothing (See rules below)
• Playing Cards
• Valuables (including jewelry)
• Inappropriate reading material. We will provide you with reading
materials that will be supportive to your recovery.
Dress Code 101
Clients must be appropriately dressed at all times.
Female Dress
Code • We suggest
loose-fitting blouses and shirts that cover the shoulders. Stomachs
must be covered at all times, including when arms are lifted.Tank tops
or spaghetti-strap blouses are not appropriate.
• Low-cut blouses or clothing made of mesh or sheer materials are not acceptable.
• If clothing has to be covered by a sweater, jacket, or another item, it is likely not appropriate apparel.
• Loose-fitting skirts, slacks, jeans, or shorts are appropriate, but must be no shorter than 3” above the knee.
• Ripped or cut-off clothing is not appropriate.
• Undergarments must be worn at all times AND in such a way that is not visible when sitting or bending.

Bathing suits are only permitted at the beach, not in the general
community. A wrap or cover-up must be worn when traveling to and from
the beach. Two-piece bathing suits are permitted however, the staff has
the right to assess appropriateness. No thongs or string bikinis are
allowed.
• Clients must wear sleepwear while sleeping at night.
Pajamas, bathrobes, or sleepwear is only to be worn in the clients’
apartments and never in common areas or outside of the apartment.
• Shoes should be flat sneakers, loafers, or sandals.
Male Dress
Code • Loose-fitting
T-shirts, button down shirts, or polo shirts are appropriate. Tank tops
are not permitted. Stomachs must be covered at all times.

Shirts must be worn at all times and must totally cover the front and
the back of the body. They must always be buttoned or zipped. No
cut-off shirts or muscle shirts are permitted.
• Slacks, jeans, and shorts are all appropriate. Cut-off shorts are not allowed. Shorts must be no more than 3” above the knee.
•
Underwear must be worn at all times. Clothing must be worn in such a
way so that underwear is not visible. If your pants or shorts will not
stay up, a belt must be worn.
• Swimsuits must be of the loose-fitting trunks style. Tight-fitting ‘Speedo’ suits are not appropriate.
•
Clients must wear sleepwear while sleeping at night. Pajamas,

and never in common areas or outside of the apartment.
